Week 12

November 12th-16th,2018

Wow! The semester is almost at the end and I have been doing a lot of amazing things in class. For starters, I have checked off one course requirement for graduation. This week, I had the opportunity to engage in the Mid-Collegiate Touchpoint Conference for Allied Health students. I learned so many amazing things to bring to my professional job. One thing that I will forever remember is everyone is important in a team, no matter how big or small. As a Allied Health student, I need to remember that, as a social work, my position is as valuable as the patient care team, and etc. The conference was 4 days long and everyday, I had to watch a video about a case study and interact in the discussion board. As each day goes by, the case study gets more details about the situation. By the end, I figured something out. I never thought about what type of social worker I wanted to be. I know that I love the hospital setting and I want to be a victim advocate, on the side, by doing support groups. Looking at the case study, being a ER social worker sounded extremely interesting... I will be looking further into the ER social worker. We'll have to see if it is the right fit.
