Week 2

January 21st-25th,2019

Happy Martin Luther King's Day! Since there was no classes on Monday, I decided to take advantage of the day and go to the Freedom Center. The Freedom Center had free admission to the Public to view African American History. I had the chance to see what African Americans went through and how they made it out of slavery. Something interesting was there was not only exhibits that talked about Black History, such as slavery, but there was a new exhibit that talked about the now a days slavery. The exhibit displayed four people's lives, of all races, and how they struggled with slavery... and then how they made it out. The different types of slavery was sex slavery, labor slavery and more. At one point, I was sick of how far we've came from slavery and that we still are going through slavery now. MLK would have wanted everyone to be free and walk with one another... there should be no differences.
